Today ONLY! Friends & Family Discount @ Walgreens

by Christie on March 30, 2012
Fabulous news! Walgreens was hinting at a special in-store deal on their Facebook page and I was hoping this was it! Today, Friday March 30th is Friends & Family Day. You can print your coupons HERE to get 15% most purchases and 20% off of Walgreens brand merchandise! I’m super excited as so many already good deals just became great!
I’ve included a list of deals for you. The prices listed are the original pre-discount price but the final price is taking into consideration the 15 or 20% off. If there’s a Walgreens coupon involved, based on past experience then they will give you 15% off but not before the Walgreens coupon. Also be careful with any deals where you have to buy a certain dollar amount because your totals will be lower. Here are some of the awesome deals I see! SO EXCITED! :)

Scrambled Egg Nests

Scrambled Egg Nests

Scrambled Egg Nests
In these easy and charming bites, shredded potatoes are baked in a muffin tin to form crunchy cups, which are then filled with scrambled eggs to make a festive and kid-friendly finger food.
  • 1 (3 1/2-cup) bag frozen shredded potatoes, defrosted (we used Simply Potatoes)
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil or butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 6 eggs
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup finely diced onions
  • 1/3 cup finely diced bell peppers
  • 3/4 cup diced cooked breakfast sausage Shredded Cheddar
  • Chopped parsley for garnish (optional)
  1. Heat the oven to 400°. In a large bowl, toss together the potatoes, 1/4 cup of the oil or butter, salt, and pepper. Spoon about 1/3 cup of the potato mixture into each cup of a 12-serving muffin tin. Press the mixture into the bottom and up the sides of each cup, then bake until golden brown, about 30 to 35 minutes. Remove the nests from the oven and allow them to cool.
  2. Meanwhile, whisk together the eggs and milk. Heat a large nonstick saute pan over medium-high heat. Add the remaining oil or butter to the pan and heat. Add the onions and peppers to the pan and saute until both are soft and the onions are slightly golden, about 2 to 3 minutes. Add the sausage and cook until heated through. Add the egg mixture and stir until the eggs have set and small curds have formed. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Remove the potato nests from the muffin tin and place them on an ovenproof platter or cookie sheet. Fill each cup with some of the egg mixture, top with a sprinkling of the cheese, and place the nests in a 375° oven until the cheese is melted, about 2 to 3 minutes. If you like, garnish each nest with a little parsley. Serve warm.

Edible Easter Basket Cupcakes

Edible Easter Basket Cupcakes
This Easter, decorate this cute little cupcake basket with jelly beans.
  • 1 dozen cupcakes
  • 1 bag jelly beans
  • 2 cups white icing
  • Sweetened coconut, colored with green food coloring
  1. First, frost the cupcakes with white icing. Bend a pipe cleaner or a piece of red licorice into an arch and push the ends into the sides of each cupcake.
  2. Shake the shredded coconut in a stainless steel bowl. Sprinkle on food coloring bit by bit, mixing vigorously to distribute the color
  3. Place a pinch of shredded coconut on each iced cupcake. Now place three jelly beans on the "nest" of coconut.
  4. Tie a small ribbon bow on the pipe cleaner or licorice handle at a jaunty angle.
  5. Put one cupcake basket by each place setting at Easter brunch or give them as gifts.
